What is withholding tax?
Withholding tax is tax deducted at source from certain payments or transactions. The payer deducts tax and records it against the taxpayer's identity where applicable. During income tax return filing, those deductions may need to be reviewed and entered carefully so the return reflects the taxpayer's actual record.
Common sources of withholding records
- Salary deductions and employer certificates.
- Banking deductions and transaction statements.
- Business receipts, vendor payments or service payments.
- Property, vehicle or other transaction records where relevant.
- Certificates or statements issued by deducting parties.
Why records matter
Return filing becomes harder when withholding records are missing, duplicated or not matched with income details. Allbiz Tax Consultants reviews available documents, identifies gaps and helps clients understand which records support the return.
How to prepare before filing
- Collect certificates, statements and transaction evidence.
- Match deductions with income sources and bank activity.
- Review the relevant tax year before finalizing the return.
- Keep acknowledgment and supporting documents after filing.
